Today we have Dana Michelle Burnet, author of Once, stopping by with her Top 5 Favorite Book Covers of All Time! Check out the synopsis of Once and then tell us what you think of Dana's favorite covers!

Beautiful. Secretive. Magical. You envy their freedom, but you are distrustful of their ways. A strange carnival has come to Corydon, Indiana and the Irish Travellers have captured the small town's attention--but it's Harmony who's attracted theirs.

Harmony sees the Travellers everywhere and just like everyone else in town she's curious. But once she meets the mysterious and captivating Kieran, Harmony's life takes an exciting and chilling turn.

Up until now, Harmony never believed that fairy tales or myths were real, but Kieran and his family belong to an ancient tribe called the Tuatha de Dannan and someone else has discovered their secret.

An ancient battle is about to begin again, and now no one is safe, especially Harmony. Can Kieran resist the urge to be with her or will his feelings put her in the crossfire?

Dana's Top 5 Favorite Book Covers Of All Time:

First off, thanks for having me on the blog! I may be a writer, but first a foremost, I am a reader and like most readers, I am guilty of judging a book by its cover. Here are my top five all-time favorite covers (by other authors)!

5. Flutter by Melissa Andrea

I just love the earthy tones in this! Maybe it’s a nod to my home decor roots or something, but earth tones are just an eye catcher for me. I also love the way the girl’s eyes are looking directly at you. That instantly draws you in and makes you want to know more about whom she is and what happens to her in the book.

4. Vivien: The Life of Vivien Leigh by Alexander Walker

I know, not what you would expect in a favorite cover list, but she is my favorite actress of all time and the photo of her on the cover is so beautiful. To me, already knowing some of her story, I can see the darkness in her personality in the photo so much more so than in the beaming photographs of her as Scarlett O’Hara.

3. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

Again, I love how the girl in the photo looks directly at you. I want to know what her story is even before I read the title.

2. The Witching Hour by Ann Rice

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I love Rice’s work and the way that her words are almost like poetry. The cover, I thought, was old fashioned in its very simple color scheme. I don’t know why, but it made me think of Edgar Allen Poe.

1. Bad Girls Don’t Die by Katie Alender

I love this cover! There is something so deliciously creepy about it! It makes me think of the movie The Ring. Between the cover and the awesome book trailers, this series quickly moved to the top of my TBR pile!

So what are some of your favorite covers?
