September Reads: Bloodlines vs. Vampire Academy

Hey, there, Pretty Readers!

Sorry it took so long to get this out. I know it's cutting it close for the second September read.

We have some book craziness coming to you this month for our Read with Pretty in Fiction/Group Reads feature. We asked, and you voted. The two books you guys chose to read for September, 2011 are:

Both books, of course, are written by the lovely Richelle Mead, and even take place in the same world. Bloodlines (released August 23rd, review here.), one of Ms. Mead's newest novels, is the first book in a spin-off of her (inter)nationally acclaimed Vampire Academy series.

Considering how interconnected these books are (and we laughed when we saw these were the two choice books of the month because of it), the other Pretty Staffers and I have decided to make this month's Pretty in Fiction Group Reads a little more...interesting.

How so, you may ask? Simple. All month long, right here on Pretty in Fiction, we are pitting Vampire Academy, and all it stands for against it's brand new sister novel, Bloodlines. We want to know:
* Who do you think makes the better protagonist?
* Who is the better *ahem* romantic interest?
* And, which book you like(d) best?

(Please keep in mind that while VA has had a chance to complete its storyline over seven books, Bloodlines is the first of its series, so let's try to keep it just book against book— or graphic novel, Taylor.)
At the end of the month, when all's said and done, we'll even be giving away a copy of each book.

So, tune in every Tuesday this September, share your thoughts, and don't forget to enter for your chance to win a copy of either Bloodlines or Vampire Academy! (More details later this week.)

Our first Bloodlines vs. Vampire Academy featurette will be posted this Tuesday, September 6th, so we hope to see you there!
